| History
Bradley was formed
in the late nineteen forties to develop a range of trailer couplings.
With a unique patented Doublelock head design and reputation for
high quality and reliability, Bradley quickly rose to become market
leader in Britain.
From the early days,
couplings were supplied to manufacturers of horse, cattle and
boat trailers, portable pump and compressor sets, car transporters
and a multitude of other trailer applications.
Jockey wheels, prop
stands, towing jaws, and many other units were soon added to the
range, to provide a more complete package. Bradley's "Flipper"
tow ball cover, a sturdy chrome plated unit, was developed to
provide a neat and simple to operate solution and is fitted to
tens of thousands of cars throughout the UK and many other parts
of the world.
1982 was an important
landmark in the UK trailer industry. It was in this year that
new EEC regulations came into being that radically affected the
design of trailer couplings and braking systems. Through its involvement
with trailer manufactures already having to comply with these
regulations for trailers being exported to Europe, Bradley had
already developed a range of sophisticated hydraulically damped
couplings for which EEC approval had been granted. From this point
the company went from strength to strength and has long been recognised
as a market leader.
The inclusion of rubber
torsion axles and 'T' bar chassis have further broadened the range.
Customers can now obtain from one source a well engineered and
matched package to suit their specific applications.
An enviable reputation
The Bradley reputation
for high quality and reliability of its products is second to
none, but the commitment to quality doesn't stop there. An unequalled
level of customer care is provided including supportive marketing
literature, delivery service and technical advice. The company
also recognises its social responsibility by supporting local
education, local employment and the local economy.
An ideal location
The Bradley head office
and manufacturing facility is based in Bingley, West Yorkshire,
approximately six miles north of Bradford. This is ideal location
in the centre of Great Britain and close to the motorway network,
helps to ensure prompt deliveries by motorway to the north, east,
south and west. It is also within easy reach of the docks at Liverpool
and Hull and Manchester Airport.
Export markets
The Southern Ireland
market is served by a Bradley office in Athlone, Eire, whilst
the North is served direct from the head office. Not only does
Bradley have a very strong market hold throughout the UK and Ireland,
but also throughout Europe and beyond, boasting a wide customer
base into the middle and far east.
The future
The company continues
to plan ahead and many exciting new products are under development
ensuring continued growth. |
